We both moved to San Antonio around the same time and not long later crossed paths in October 2018. We were friends first and went on all the adventures together and soon realized we wanted that forever. In May of 2020 Akbar asked Carmen to be his girlfriend. Our bond intensified and we were fortunate enough to go on many family trips creating lasting ties and special moments. Both of us are so grateful to have found each other even coming from another corner of the country.

After two years of love, laughs, and memories Akbar spontaneously proposed to Carmen at the 2022 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. It was such a special moment, once he realized he wanted to spend the rest of his life with the most special and precious person he ever met and he could not let the opportunity pass by.

This past year and a half we’ve moved in together, traveled, worked on wedding planning, moved homes, strengthening our connection and reaffirmed our love and commitment for each other.
